Zanza game is a digital board game for challenging and improving your general knowledge. It is playable in single or multiplayer mode by up to six persons, on various mobile devices (tablets and smartphones). Pierrot and the Private Moon Studios were asked by prominent Hungarian edutainment company Eduweb Multimédia to create this game as part of their large-scale project titled zanza.tv. Comenius EduMedia medal winner zanza.tv is a web-based educational portal offering hundreds of videos in major subjects of high-school curricula. The portal makes this tremendous amount of knowledge available to everyone, completely free.
The Zanza board game draws on this vast knowledge base and applies Pierrot’s quiz-game concept, but this time the traditional game board is replaced by mobile technology.
The game can be played either on the same device or remotely. Players can select from the choice of 8 subjects: history, ethics, philosophy, social studies, Hungarian grammar and literature, maths and sports theory. Once an answer is entered, the system reveals the correct solution and, optionally, provides a link directly to the relevant video on zanza.tv. The game also features lots of fun board-game elements to enhance competition. (The quiz-game concept is the same used in Pierrot’s tabletop board game Don’t Step on Me! )
